Machines such as this are used in a pre-production stage during the manufacture of booklet labels or integrated in label printing machines. Detailed and complex product descriptions are a legal requirement in the internationalisation of consumer products, such as skin protection and care products, and muesli and cereal products, though also for other usage cases, such as pesticides. These may differ in individual countries; however at the very least the language will be different. They should refer to the ingredients, provide usage instructions and warnings and display the marks and barcodes normally seen at retail. Instead of designing a special version of the product for each country, thus incurring additional costs for materials planning, warehousing and individualisation, products are increasingly using booklet labels, which contain all this information for all languages in booklet form, so that the standard products have all the individualised data for consumers in each market to look at. Such Z-fold labels must not only be separated and fed reliably and precisely, but then also stuck to the product with adhesive film.
